Dorothy was the prim and proper quiet librarian that was the matriarch of the family. Her Alzheimer’s diagnosis caught everyone off guard and stressed her daughter to the point she had her admitted to a special private nursing home prematurely. Josie was a hard-working registered nurse that helped her patients through difficult times. She won some. She lost some. At times she wanted to be the super hero and bring people back to life to help their grieving families. A pain she knew all to well when she lost her husband at a young age. Because of her profession, she knew what was waiting for her when the doctors told her that she tested positive for Alzheimer’s. At one point she thought it would be best for her to join her husband at her own hands. Instead, she visited nursing homes and found the one that Dorothy was at and fell in love with the serenity of the facility.

Dorothy and Josie become the best of friends. Josie entertains the straight-laced Dorothy with her antics of seeing her deceased husband and dancing around like a super hero. They have many great adventures together within the home. Even a couple of love interests come their way. Then they over hear orderlies talking about what they’re going to do for work once the nursing home closes. An option neither of the ladies ever dreamed would happen.

Dorothy looks out the window and begins to question her own future. The sound of motorcycles driving to the bar across the street gives her an idea. She whispers it to Josie and together, they escape to go “meet the neighbors”. Neighbors that are more than happy to take the girls on an adventure while their families and facility staff panic over their disappearance. Come along for this comic adventure of two unlikely friends caught up in the joys of not knowing any better than to have a little fun in their last days.
